The Defense Department apparently has secrets…and these are ones that even Nancy Pelosi didn’t know about.

A new DOD study reports that approximately 1 out of every seven released terrorists from Guantanamo Bay detention facility have been found to return to terrorist activities.

That is a much higher rate than anyone has reported previously.  It also goes to the heart of the Obama proposals on Gitmo.  Before the political revolt, the Obama Administration and its justice department were more than ready to release the Uighar Chinese detainees to the U.S.  There were 19 of those, so we could extrapolate that 3 of them could have become terrorists.  Not a great track record.

This will only make it more difficult for Obama to bring detainees back to the U.S.  Why?  Simply, if you put them on trial, they have a little thing called the presumption of innocence. Thus, if they are not found guilty, we would legally have to release them, or show our trial system to be a kangaroo court.  Not great options either way.

The worst of this for Obama; he continues to have to admit that George Bush was right.
