IOC: No Way To Chicago, Obama

Now, I don’t blame Barack and Michelle Obama for trying to get the Olympics.  I think it is a waste of money, but they were trying to do what they thought it was right.

But the funniest thing about this?  The response of the media.  They looked like they were going to cry when Chicago was the first one eliminated. Note:  Rio de Janeiro would eventually win.

I don’t think I have seen anything funnier on TV this year…including Jon Stewart.  CNN’s response was classic.  They could not believe their standard bearer could fail so utterly.

Again, this is Obama not understanding the difference between popularity and power.  Obama is very, very popular…almost like a superstar.  But he is NOT powerful.  He could not have moved less people to the cause of the Chicago 2016 Olympics.  In other words, his arrival in Copenhagen was virtually worthless.

The White House arrogance is much of the same.  They complete lack the understanding that Obama is liked…but cannot move people to his view point.  Look at health care, the stimulus, cap-and-trade…all failing in the polls.  Rahm Emanuel, the Chicagoan who is chief of staff for Obama, made fun of his critics: “You know, we’ll make sure they get some good seats once Chicago does host the games.”

How are those seats looking now, Rahm?

I just hope that this is not a precursor for Obama’s soft power when it comes to more important issues, such as Iran and North Korea.
